SAINT-LAURENT-DES-ARBRES · RHÔNE VALLEY
LIRAC, the elegance of an emerging terroir, a story driven by passion.
Alongside Thierry Chapusot, Laurent Barrieux and Christophe Baillet, Bruno Ramirez and oenologist Gérald Lafont combine their expertise to express the diversity of Lirac’s terroirs.
Here, we share glimpses behind the scenes at the estate: the changing seasons in the vineyard, our know-how, the people behind each cuvée and our latest news. In the heart of the Lirac appellation, Domaine du Tau crafts wines from exceptional terroirs through meticulous vineyard work, precise blending and respect for the character of each vintage.
Our aim is to craft great wines, combining the creative freedom of a young estate with the exacting standards of know-how passed down through generations.

A STORY DRIVEN BY PASSION
The vineyards
Depending on the plot, the soils range from sand and rounded pebbles to red rock and clay-limestone.
- 14 hectares fall within the Lirac cru appellation and are planted with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault.
- A further 2 hectares nearby are planted with Grenache, Syrah, Tempranillo and Carignan, producing wines classified as Vin de France.
The vines are between 20 and 85 years old.
Each plot is harvested at optimum ripeness, with picking dates determined by the grape variety and regular tastings of the berries.
The estate holds Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value) certification and is moving towards organic farming. Great care is taken to nurture the vines and preserve the surrounding biodiversity.
The diversity of soils and grape varieties comes together in carefully crafted blends, creating elegant, generous wines.
